1. Spend time often praying/talking to God
If you don’t know how to pray, just be honest. A good starting prayer might be, “Thank you God for coming into my life, but I don’t really know how to talk to you. Please help me and please speak to me.” Your prayers don’t need to be long. They are actually best when they are honest and to the point. God longs to hear from you and the more you take moments to pray to Him and strive to listen to Him, the closer God will be in your life.
2. Spend time often reading the Bible
If you don’t know what to read, start with the New Testament. I think the book of Matthew is a good starting point. The Bible will help you to understand God, to understand His teachings and principles, and it will help you become all that God wants you to become. The Bible is the greatest way to get to know God. He uses His Word to speak to us and draw us closer to Himself. He has a great plan and purpose for your life and He will use the Bible to help you become the person that He desires you to become.
3. Find other Christians to spend time with
Jesus built His church so that Christians would come together to encourage one another, love one another, and show the world the love of Christ through their actions. We need each other to help us to become better people and we need each other to be the light to the world that Jesus called us to be. You may be able to keep a relationship with God without going to church or spending time with other Christians, but you will never reach your full potential or find your God-given purpose to serve the world without joining together with other parts of the Body of Christ/The Church. The Body of Christ is the largest and greatest force in the world for good and we each have a role to play in becoming all that we can be. Don’t try to do it alone. We are better together.
4. Find your purpose and continue to grow and improve yourself
God didn’t save you just for yourself, but He saved you because He wants your life to be a testimony for Him and to bring Him glory in the world. You are uniquely gifted and there is nobody in the world just like you. There is a purpose in this world that only you can fulfill. You only get one shot at this life; you might as well give it your best. I wrote Epic Christianity as tool to help you find your purpose and build a life that makes a difference. I encourage you to read it and get a vision for “the best you” that you can become. You can also connect with me on social media, read my blog, or watch my other videos as they may all be an encouragement to you.
5. Tell somebody that you accepted Jesus as your Savior
Jesus said if you acknowledge me before men, I will acknowledge you before my father in heaven. To really make your commitment to Jesus real, you should tell someone. Be careful who you tell too early, because there are people who might not believe what you believe and they may be a discouragement to you. So it is best to find another Christian to tell of your decision.I would love to hear from you and know if you have accepted Jesus! Join my email list and respond to the email that I will send you. I would be extremely happy to hear from you and I would love to help you grow and become the best you that you can be!
